RF-84K-?-RE -- FS-265 -- SN 52-7265

Right front 3/4 of the RF-84K at Planes of Fame in Chino, California. Notice the 26-degree dihedal of the flying tail, a sure way to identify the K-model, as used in the Fighter Conveyer program (FICON) with the modified B-36 bombers. This was a rainy day -- it never rains in California, right! -- and a drop of water on the lens somewhat obscures the extended capture hook installed in the nose of the aircraft. Within minutes after this photo was taken a 20-minute downpour started, and I had to take refuge in the museum hanger. Bruce Craig.
